A NEW METHOD FOR THE AMATEUR.
1-- r HHO-TEXHUMECKAX
In the early part of 1935 the author built a small clinker-built sailing dinghy, the whole of the work was done in a spare room in a flat at Surbiton, where, owing to the proximity of neighbours, it was important that as little noise as possible should be made.
This precluded the usual method of riveting with the attendant hammering, and in consequence the method outlined in the following pages was developed with most successful results. This briefly is to use small B.A. nuts and bolts for all the fastenings, which is not only a quiet method of construction but enables any small leakage which may occur later in the planking (owing to shrinkage, etc.) to be taken up with a turn uf the screwdriver.
